You are responsible for your own actions out on the roads at all times, and this includes when it rains out there. You need to pace yourself and drive slowly. Try to keep some distance between yourself and all other drivers on the road. You need time to react to what they are doing, and spacing is the only way that you can guarantee that.

In addition to all of this, have you considered the possibility of checking up on the equipment that makes up your vehicle in the first place? This means looking over the windshield wipers, the tires, and anything else that generally keeps you safe. Always make sure to do things like defog the windows before driving in the rain as well. Essentially, many actions that you can take before you ever get out there and drive are easy and yet hugely impactful. Don’t take them for granted.
